Reno you have my wishes for 2023 my old friend !! :)
maybe Fisher werent intending to make those models the loudest.
They are hard workers though and this particular model
gives you the illusion of Hi Fidelity.

Now let's say that you are not a collector it's not 2023,
say that you are somehow transported to 1985, say you are in your early 20s
You enter a store full of Hi Fi units , CRT Televisions , portable radios and electrical appliances
and you see this Fisher from distance.. dont you now have the illusion that this is HI-FI separates?

same to you deech lad notice i still have youre old banger m90 but not my other one lol......you have a small sanyo i would like lad on ebay but it's just far to much with postage and everything for me lad

i found that fisher did not sound that good either lad but i modded the hell
out of mine and it sounded great

I had the same perception with the JVC PC- and the Sony FH series Deech. It seem to be the trend at the time. I admit I still think it's a cool design.

if truth be told geoff there are only 2 good sounding fh lad the 909 and the one i have cant remember mn....happy new year lads

deeches m90 meant more to me as i was so involved with her. took 3 or 4 years to restore and she is all original plus i spent a couple of months using her in hospital, the whole ward was bouncing lol

Fisher never made any high end products.

I used to have the center section from the 480 hooked up to two Sansui 15-in house speakers let me tell you that mother f***** thumped.
Now that I think about it that was really the first stereo system I ever owned. My parents picked that Center section up at a yard sale somewhere for almost nothing even back then but it was missing the speakers.

Proof that even just 12 watts per channel can make decent sound

i agree lads the 480 is the best sounding of the fishers but if i remember correctly its as big as a conion,,,,,,,,,the most annoying thing the speakers would fall off when on my lap even after flipping superglue lol

mine sounded way better than an m90 after modding it

That's the most annoying s*** on Earth is speakers that don't lock on the main unit.

Exactly and those Sansui speakers could get every ounce of efficiency out of that thing too. I don't know why but I always prefer the 480 over the 490/492.
