Hello everyone, I'm new here, just wanted to find someone knowledgeable with repairing Fisher boomboxes. I have the PH 480, the left channel just went out. It was recently serviced
by Mr. Teddy Hashee, and he had it playing great!! It was recently bumped pretty hard by a basketball and that was the result- no left channel!

Where did the ball hit it?

Those boxes frequently have problems with the speaker cables. They often get hit or bent due to their exposed location.

not sure exactly, but afterwards notice left channel had no sound. I switched the right speaker over and still no sound

Also hooked the left speaker on the right side and it played. What is crazy is that what was wrong with it when I originally sent it to be repaired!

could be the headphone jack itself I'm pretty sure all the signal passes through this headphone jack before it makes it out to the speakers it's only interrupted when you plug the headphones in.

Hello JVC Floyd, so I need to replace the headphone jack, or at least start there?
that would be where I would start if it took a hit it might have jostled that headphone jack. if you have stereo coming out of the headphones then it's something between the output of the headphone jack and the input of the speaker. mind you the headphone jack is attenuated so that only a certain amount of wattage comes out through the headphones it's nowhere near the amount that would come out through the speakers.
