So not sure if anyone remembers the black Crown 850 I got few yrs ago. Well I got another silver 1 last year sometime. IMG_20180216_210339_867.jpg
I decided to give them both a decent clean at same time and decide which 1 deserved to have the cassette door.
Turned out the black 1 had been painted, and poorly at that. Hadn't even taken the rings out. Were black around the inside.
So I decided I'd try my hand at a paint job.
Results are in. Painted the horrible yellow unknown speakers white. Was trying to go for British Racing Green, but don't think it's quite dark enough. Made a few masking tape mistakes with the silver trims, but I'm happy with finished product

I like it, especially the duo tone back cover. Gives it that look reminiscent of cars in the late 50's & '60's. You're right though, it's not quite dark enough to be jaguar green.

It takes some balls to step outside the box and go for a unique color. I looks fantastic. Like Superduper said, very 1950's. Nice work.

Cheers people. I thought green, white and silver was a good scheme. Out in the sun makes the green way brighter than thought would be but inside has my desired darkness. I also coloured the light bulbs for green tinge. IMG_20180330_195541.jpg
