Hi guys,
I'm another long time lurker who has just bought myself a Panasonic RX-CW50F for a reasonable price.
I had one of these when I was a teenager and loved it back then. This is the first blaster I've bought myself in 20 years and it feels good. :) My original was sold in the mid 90's, so I'm really happy to pick up another fully working model last week..

I was just wondering what year or years this box was originally manufactured? I had my original around 1989/90.
I think it was second hand when I got hold of it.

Anyway, this forum is brilliant. :)

Cheers T-STER. Should get it on Wednesday. Want to start collecting a few boxes as imo they are works of art.
I'm in awe of some of the collections posted on here. Simpy incredible.

Anyway happy to start a collection with this Panasonic from my youth.
I'll post pictures later in the week. :)

Fantastic, well done, im looking for my first box at the moment, just not sure what to go for lol
Cheers sbshadow. The range of boxes available is huge on ebay, but prices look like they're rising.

I owned the Panasonic RX-CW50F in the 80's (sold in the 90's), so it's an easy choice for me as a first purchase.
Done a quick search on Google and it looks like it might have been first sold in 1985???

Anyone know for sure?

Finding your first blaster again is like having your first child (if you have kids, you know that feeling). Congrats on that score and welcome out of the shadows.

So what's next on your list? :hmmm: You know your gonna get another one

Thanks Lasonic. The box was delivered today and overall, I'm really happy with it.
It's in great condition and looks exactly like I remembered. :D

The radio and line in RCA ports all work great. Amaziingly both tape decks work, but sound a bit muffled. The belts seem to be ok as tapes play without getting jammed up. Being new to all this, I need advice on how to get the tape decks back working properly again. Do they just need a clean??

Overall, the condition is very good. I do think I'm missing a small piece of chrome trim next to the one touch dubbing button (see last photo). Other than that, I can't fault it. :)

How do the tape decks look to you guys??

first you must clean tape head and pinch roller: video
If playback is still bad, you must replace belts and pinch rollers.
