first 2010 drive in movie of the year for us last night.
the caprice was all shined up and cleaned inside and out . in the back seat were the two sears badged m9996s i have.
the movies cop out clash of the titans and shecklock holmes.
good fun and the boomboxes provided great sound for the show as usual.
the cool thing about using the boomboxes is i dont have to worry about the cars battery starting us up at the end of it all.
it was a long haul. parked and in waiting by 715 and rolling off the lot by 230 am as the credits rolled .
home by 330 am.
if you have a drive in close to where you live you owe your boombox the fun of providing excellent sound for your movie night out.
i mean how cool is it to be able to bring your boombox to the movie and be in total control of the volume.
didnt miss surround sound one bit.

yep its all via fm now man.
those speakers you used to hang inside your car are long gone.

I remember a drive-in in Valencia, Venezuela (where my parents live) where you had to hang this REALLY HEAVY metal speaker clunker looking thing on your window... you had to have it rolled down like half way for it to fit... it actually looked very much like one of those old microphones from Shure, but huge and heavy!!! Hahahahahaha... those were the days....

That's such a great idea. Unfortunately California has bulldozed every last connection to 20 years ago in favor of more urban sprawl and the Drive In Theater was one of the first to go.

Cool, Cool, Cool

the drive in up here really doing well. in fact they are making tons of cash.
its almost always sold out on the weekends during the sumer and has a decent ammount of attendees during the rest of the week.
i would love to own a drive in theatre.
i think it would be cool to show old movies on the outdoor screen as well as new ones.
would have to be the right location tho.
