G'day, I just gained an interest in boomboxes this weekend after picking up this nice find:

I was looking for a replacement for the Panasonic next to it, which sees a fair bit of use in my shed, in the backseat of my car when it doesn't have a stereo, at work sometimes and on various social occasions, the last one of which resulted in the speakers being blown in it.

So after a total of about 30 minutes of looking around on the net I had found the ghetto blaster hall of fame, and various boombox interest sites, and then a quick check on a local trader website this Disco Lite for sale. It was 10 mins away and advertised for $250! I managed to pick it up for $220 (and I have to admit I felt a bit guilty offering less!) and it's in good working condition, all lights & LEDs working & even the tape player works. The seller bought it new & only used it for the odd BBQ but has replaced it with an MP3 player.

Hopefully I'll be adding to my collection soon, I still need something to replace the Panasonic after all, the Disco Lite will be for speacial occasions only!

Well, that is one heck of a find! Just wondering, did you happen to be wearing a ski mask when you stole it?

What a great start! Always wanted one of those, but they're pretty hard to come by in Denmark.

And welcome to the site!

Thanks every one. And it's fair to say I'm hooked!
I spent today driving around to second hand & pawn shops, didn't come up with anything too flash besides a nice little jvc unit.
I also managed to fit some new speakers to my panasonic, the sound is now much improved!
