First Boombox (newbie)

Hi all!

I am the new guy who has box-less until this Sunday. My neighbor had a garage sale and I picked this boombox offa him for $3.
Panasonic RX 5100. I don't have a clue about what I just got, but i joined this forum and 2 days later got a box without really trying. more than a coincidence?

The speakers work great and the radio too. I'm amazed at how many cool inputs are on the back. All the sliders are a little sticky making the volume set at either off, or blast. The sad part is that the cassette player will not spin any tapes. I haven't tested it with batteries and my gf said she will kill me if i show up somewhere in public with her and it..... well, i'm not returning the boombox so yeah.. guess she can find someone who likes earbuds

anyone know a good plan for how to get this baby up to speed??

The 5100 is a good sounding utility box. For three bux whose complaining?

Sad about the missing door.
No idea what people do with the boxes......? :annoyed: :'-(

Maybe you find a partspender or try to rebuilt a door yourself
But nice box anyway, worth to save

btw: i would do a custom job with it.
Example painting the speaker grills to make it less "boring"
