been long enough since i got this thing ,it had more holes in it than the titanic

huge gaping ones and big pieces missing from the front case ,on the corners especially .

filthy dirty inside and out .

tuner works great ,and so does the cassette now that i went through the hell or re belting it

all in all this is a pretty bad ass sounding radio as good or better than the trc 920 and i like the sound of the 918 more than i do the 920 .

basically just gutted and refinished nearly square inch of this thing as best i could , i think it turned out great so far . some of the pics are blurry

thanks guys , i been going through all my boxes that need work and fixing every issue . i already did my trc 920 and now the 918 .

i realize now that having these fixed up was way over due . it's almost like getting new box having these all fully working and looking decent for a change  .

i even learned a lot about adjusting the tuner boards , i fiddled with the 920 which had crappy reception and got it to pick up almost every station clearly now.

still have a few details to wrap up on the 918 then when the weather clears up i can take more better outside pics.

i love my lasonic's.

Did the deck on the 918 seems a little more difficult to you  it was a pain in my A$$ rebelting mine

yes it was very hard . like almost no way to remove the board that sits on top of where the belts go to get in there to change them ,so i got it apart as much as i could and finally got the belts on .
