Two pieces of good news for me:
2.) Surprise, surprise! There really IS a regular flea market in the Detroit area. It's called the Dixieland Antique Flea Market, and it's in Waterford, north of Detroit. Lots of toothless sellers, knockoff designer purses, and rusty tools. The best kind!! Picked up a perfect Magnavox 8300 (photo on request, but you know the type: the sort-of big one that comes in yellow [black and white, too] and has 3 speakers and a strap). Looks better than it sounds, but sounds OK.
1.) Our local Value World thrift store actually had two - count 'em: 2 - nice mini boxes this week: a pink Sony CFS-220 and a Magnavox D8197. I haven't found anything even slightly worthy at a thrift store around here for months! Seems my Karma has been improving (slightly) lately. The gods must be crazy!
