Well I picked this up this morning real cheap after a late night online search...

It saw 9 years duty in a Transmission shop before the shelf collapsed and it planted face first into the concrete....

It doesn't look too bad... but it aint even lighting up...

And so it begins......

Hell it survived a face plant in the concrete better than shipping. If it's not powering up I would suspect the power switch .these things are flimsy as they come.

Congrats on the new addition! If you are luck, it is probably a broken power switch, which is an easy fix.

Wow, the elusive Sharp GF-777! It looks like it’s all there. Good luck with the fault diagnostics.

Let me know if you need a hand.

So I got it going. When it's hit the deck the back has fallen off, taking the DC power off it's plug, and the antenna wires popped off. The line in switch was also selected, so even if power was on, it wasn't making any noise.

I put it together just to make sure it was all there. So the good news is: It's running, both decks and radio work, full stereo from all 4 speakers. Now the bad news. It looks like the decks took most of the hit. Smashing the center door locating pins, perhaps beyond repair... (the doors seem to be fine).

The crack visible in the above pictures runs right through to the deck corner. It's moved the deck location a little, so much so the transport doesn't rise to meet the tape sometimes.

All in all I'm pretty pleased for the price. Now for a disassemble and clean, it has grease fingerprints on it. Not sure how I'm going to put the doors back on, I'll have a think about it.
