At under 100 bones, why not? Have you seen what that buys in the new electronics section these days? I'm sure the Emerson blows away (sound wise) the ipod docks or so-called boomboxes that are twice that price, and it does have a cool look (GF-777 meets Sony APM?).

When it was brand new in circa 1984, it was $99.90 plus $8 shipping. That's about $226.85 in today's dollars.

However, you only paid $37.81 for it using 1984 dollars. So... that is a great deal!!

Didn't notice that was a DAK add, I don't recall seeing boomboxes in the DAK catalog but then again I haven't looked in a DAK catalog in a very long time. For $99 I'll bet they sold a lot of them, great price point for a boomer that looks like it would kick some arse.

Ah, yes... good old Drew Kaplan. I remember those DAK ads well, though this is the first time I think I've seen one for a boombox. I used to drool over those big BSR speakers Drew used to flog through these ads.

had one of those too so i know ,plus speakers are tiny and it's smaller than it looks but hey if you like it rock on glad you won it probably be worth some money in the future ,the good part is it is light so carrying it won't kill you and it looks batter than most eggs any day of the week.
