Picked up a dirty JVC PC-X95 for $3.50 and wanted to see how long a full teardown would take. Turns out not very long when you have a PCB holder.

Bonus: A huge spider jumped out of one of the speakers and started running across the floor.

Dear me, drastic measures or what?! :w00t: Considering the extortionate price you paid, could you return the spider for a 50 cents refund? :-D

I'm not working there. Just messin'. Beefing up the stockroom.
The M90 in 100 pieces in my bedroom, now that is actual, real, work.

Eric! I'm starting to think that you may secretly get some weird and creepy satisfaction out of operating a boombox chop shop! :w00t:    :w00t:

Haha nah man just wanted some more spares, the price was right. I also tore down a VCR and camcorder right before the JVC but I didn't bother laying it all out all nicely like that. I see a $4 price tag on stuff like this and figure well, it definitely isn't getting a spot on the shelf but it could be good at least for parts that can't be found anymore, or can be found, but take an eternity to show up from China. Clips, AC jacks, connectors, switch parts (contacts, gears), leaf switches, belts and pinch rollers (if they're still good), limited run ICs, antennas, speakers, heck just all kinds of good stuff. I usually don't depopulate the boards though, that was just something I went for this one time and sorta looked cool. I have a box filled with PCBs with the parts still installed.
