Just wondering, based on everyone's experiences, what is the LOWEST eBay rating you would feel comfortable buying from? And how do these work anyway? Seems to me that if someone's rating tanked, they'd simply set up a new account... :hmmm: Anyway, I'm eyeing a piece from someone in the 98s, which doesn't seem bad, but you never know...

imho --the ratings mean nothing --

i have had very cheap packing, slow shipping and poor product
descriptions from PLENTY of 100% positive sellers --
and have had very good dealings with lesser rating ebayers-

when you see the negative feedbacks -
read them --
then make your own evaluations of the sellers

Ebays ranking is not realistic. 98% positive does not translate to 98% satisfied customers.

if it is not 100% I usually do not buy. However, if I really want it I read the comments.
If they are just for late shipping that doesnt bother me. And remember 100% great sellers can also be hit by the scums and scam artists that wander ebay.

Also remember that you are covered these days by ebay. It is more of a buyers market/seller beware environment .

I pay more attention to the feedback that the seller gets from the buyers. A seller who doesn't sell a lot could have a low rating and have only one negative, which could have happened 12 months ago. In those cases, a low rating doesn't bother me too much. Basically, what Ira said.

:agree:

Got from a 94% dealer a perfect box in good packing.
And from a 100% dealer..... nothing. :annoyed:
Cash gone and he deleted his account.
