I'm sure we have enough people on here that still buy vinyl, new or old. Well if ya don't know, today is the annual Record Store Day. Any decent record store still around is most likely crazy busy today. Lot of super limited releases just out for this day, and sell out insanely quick. Well locally in Minneapolis we have a few real nice record shops still thriving, so they got some very limited stock of the good stuff. Well, my bank account is feeling some pain right now after I went back and forth between them, starting at 9a today when the lines were already down the block.

Went to Fifth Element, which is the retail store ran/owned by Rhymesayers Ent. (Atmosphere, Brother Ali, POS, Evidence, Freeway, etc). They do a special record each year for this day. 2000 hand numbered each year. So I had to get that again, as well as a special J Dilla 7 inch, a crazy set of Lee Perry vinyl set, and what might be the coolest 'collector' set in a while. A Pharcyde 7" singles box set. Comes with the multi colored 7"s, a massive album cover poster, a puzzle, etc etc, and the kicker is when you open the box, it plays their old track 'Ahhhhh sh*t'. Just too funny and awesome. Heading back to Fifth Eleemnt for a 3rd time today as there's a few MCs and DJ sets going on. The DJ sets are all vinyl and they can only use used records they find in the store. Pretty cool idea.

Then it was off to Electric Fetus, Minneapolis's best old school record store. Found they Esperanza Spalding 2 LP album. 180 gram heavy duty quality, and she is just amazing. Making it even better is the cover art with her and a Lasonic 935. the Download card is just the 935 too, so it's all the better. Also found 1 of the 2000 Shabazz Palaces vinyl that came out for today. They too are just amazing to me. And sound even better with a Tech 1200 and M90 playing it.

Anyways, couple pics from the damage today...
