Greetings fellow enthusiasts.
Here is the stupid question of the day. :dunce:

Yes,it has tweeters in the sense. It probably uses the typical cheap Sanyo tweeters that just look like a flat disc of metal with the + and - wires soldered to it. :annoyed:
So yes I guess you could call them tweeters... :dunce:
It has tweeters similar to my Sanyo M9500K.

That's absolutely right Skippy.
Question is what are these things supposed to do?
No sound that I know of comes out of them.
Are mine broken or are they not intended to do much in the first place?
I'm going to attempt to put real tweets in its place.

I think that yours probably don't work just from being old.
I say go ahead and put some REAL tweeters in that sucker.
What could it hurt? :dunce: :-D

My Panasonic RX-5150 is the same way. The tweeters do absolutely nothing. Maybe only dogs can hear the sound emitted from them, but I sure can't.

The right one is quiet similar to skippys and also owns tweeters.
The left one for example, owns mic´s on this place. :hmmm:

"...In many cases in lower cost equipment, typically portable stereos (boomboxes) or car audio, flat disc piezo elements are employed as tweeters, although their sensitivity (and hence output level) is very low. Including these devices allows manufacturers to claim their speakers are 2- or 3-way systems. That the output is almost inaudible may be a good thing, since these devices are resonant discs unsuitable for use as genuine tweeters..."

I love how the owner scratched his Social Security number on the deck door. That way if it gets stolen they can steal his identity too. And then replace the deck door. :dunce:
