Hi everyone-I was just listening to some Party 93.1 videos (South Florida)and tapes and was just realizing how incredible DJ Tiesto is!!
I also really like Paul Oakenfold-here's really, really good also.
I also like Paul Van Dyke-some of his material is the "Bomb" also!!
I was just owndering how many DJ's out there that might be familiar to this material & artists.
I have met DJ Adam Goldsten-he's a really nice guy but he wasn't DJ'ing,I met him at a concert, very good DJ though.
Jaetee, maybe your familiar with these guys stuff??
Here's a concert in Miami! A rave!
Have a great one-GB. :-) :-D

Daughter is Techno crazy! Our house is loaded with mixes by those guys... and lots of others. She spent Memorial Day weekend at the Electronic Music Fest in downtown Detroit. Huge, world-famous event.

Ahh Detroit, the home of true Techno, where innovators like Juan Atkins (Cybotron, Model 500), Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Eddie Fowlkes, Marty Bonds (too name a few) all originated back in the mid-80s.

As for Oakenfold I loved his 'Perfecto Remix' of Arrested Development's 'Mr Wendal' - that was sick.

Yup, I've actually met Paul Van Dyke. I'd say he's my favorite of the bunch. I prefer his mixing over Tiesto & Paul Oakenfold. And I have good reason to say that.

I've heard Paul Oakenfold live twice, and both times he seemed to struggle through is sets. From a DJ's perspective, it was disappointing. Plus, I know some promoters who have hired him and a guy who has toured with him (ever heard of DFuse?) and the word is that Oakenfold is a total primadonna. Even to the point where he specifies in his contract rider that a specific type of bread has to be on-hand for him to snack on.... Way overpaid for the quality of his DJ mixing. The music he produces is solid and worthy... but as a DJ I think he is beyond overrated.

As for Tiesto, I've only heard him once... Burning Man 2006, the morning after the burn he was playing during sunrise at one of the largest dance camps at the festival. He trainwrecked at least three times in a row... my whole crew left. Disappointing as well... But, to his defense, I have no idea how long he had been at the decks at that point and he must have been absolutely wasted.

PvD on the other hand, flawless every time I heard him play. And a nice guy to boot. Very shy....

For more progressive and deeper stuff, check out John Digweed, Sasha, Dave Seaman and Nick Warren... Those guys are phenomenal!

Agree on the Digweed!!! Can't say thanks enough for the hookup JT! :-D

Right on...! You know I'm all about sharing music!!!! I think that's imbedded in a DJ's DNA...

Man, I had to miss this years DEMF. :annoyed: In the process of moving. and with tickets at 40 bones a day it's no deal to say the least.
I have been to every on since it started in 2000. That first one was the best by far, really grass roots and a great vibe.
By 2005 it was too comercialized and lacked something, it seemed forced.
Latley Paxahaux has done a good job bringing it back. :-)
I have one gripe about that weekend, I cant stand "Candy Kids" and Glow Sticks. that sh!t is beyond lame.
but all the scantily clad hot chicks willing to shake that ass more than makes up for those raver wannabe's.

Hi Jaetee-That's cool you met Paul VD.!!
That's unfortunate that Tiesto & Oakenfold areen't as good as they're studio stuff which is all I've mostly heard except I heard a couple of really good DJ's in Wisconsin-I forgot their names-I was really wasted but there was big acts also.

I do like Dfuse!!
I have heard of his stuff and like it!
Paul Van Dyke is really good, your really fortunate to have met him.
I bet you watch these guys and get ideas or incorporate maybe some of their tricks or styles into your own??
I liked Oakenfold's "Bunka"-I though that was good!
Thanks for the news Jaetee and everyone-GB. :-)
