Hi all.
thought I would share. Currently working on a DOA Discolite.
Restoration going ok but still some issues to sort.

so far, tapes cleaned, new belts and working well. Cleaned all
Sliders and switches. Radio sort of works but FM not that great, lots of noise and when you do get a stereo station tuned in,
the volume is not that loud.
lots of issues with the lights
completely stripped down the LED boards removed all dodgy wiring and have replaced all LEDs with new. Also replaced all grain of rice bulbs.

lighting board, had dead short due to fried TDA2822M chip. Got another butthat has an issue with 2shorted pins, think the grain of rice bulbs may be too much current so have ordered some more, also getting dodgy readings on the 555 timer chip so ordered some of this as well.
have managed to get the LEDs working but only standard flash and not changing with the music, hoping to new chips will sort that out.
Re sprayed the speaker grills and refitted the plastic front panel as it was bubbles up.

still work in progress. Here as some pictures

Would love to hear from
Anyone who had similar issue with FM radio and what you did to fix it. Thanks

You could try wash down the tuner board with alcohol then dry with a fan heater. Could be a dirty variable capacitor.

This week been repairing one of the tape doors as the pins had snapped off, both doors now working well, just waiting for some silicon oil I have ordered to clean and recoil the door dampers.
the light board now has a couple of chip sockets and a new 555 timer chip just waiting for a replacement audio amplifier chip then can test the lights. 25CFDA3D-55D9-4E65-BCE8-131DBF52F653.jpeg25CFDA3D-55D9-4E65-BCE8-131DBF52F653.jpegCCD63D91-254F-433F-BFCA-D7C21ED4330C.jpeg7E8A3B47-F1A1-4CF5-B26E-B3FBA4492481.jpeg

Lots of work on that box.
Hopefully you get it sorted out, it'll look awesome.
I'd verify the piezo tweeters are working, I've had bad luck with those.

Finally got the light board working, had a blown resister. Still a few outstanding bits. Have ordered some replacement piezo speakers (thanks Tubman). Still want to swap out the speaker lights when I get them. Still slight issue with FM radio. Really pleased with the all new LEDs they really bring it to life. image.jpg

Hello, Disco Lite fans! Who knows what font Is used for the logos "Audio Visual" and "Disco Lite"? I have Dynasty ES-555 in bad condition without this logos and now I want to restore it.
