Found this while browsing through a GF-9797 service manual. Thought it might be helpful for reference if anyone needed to build their own input/output cable.

I have been trying to figure out the old DIN style plugs as well.

I have an old Alpine car stereo from around 1983. It has the DIN plug on it. But I don't know what it is for. Is it suppose to be an "OUT" to an amplifier?

If so, I was trying to find a DIN to RCA so I could hook up this stereo to a modern car amp.

I use one of these with my couple of Euro boomboxes:

I made a 3,5mm to DIN -cord. Had some 4 pin cord with jack connector from old computer speakers. I Connected pins 1 and 4. Tried to connect my MP4 player (Meizu M6 Miniplayer) to my Palladium, sound was loud and clear. Though the level was INSANE. I had to have my player volume at 4-8 (has 0-40). I know there is two different types, AMP and PLAY, iirc. And the pins 1 & 4 are either IN's or OUT's. I should try some of my other boxes too.
