This box is one I got from the Litfan collection. He liked rare and unusual Walkmans, boomers and other vintage audio. I always admired his taste in boomers.
It's a Japanese domestic market only box and dates from around 1980. I can't think of any boomers with 8 inch drivers made around that time...anyone think of any? Most of the text on the box is in Japanese and it has a proper line in. It's 100v only and is rated at 18W.

Here are some pics with some of my other 8 inchers for a size comparison.

The sound is very good. It's one of the better one piecers that I've heard. Not saying it's as good, but it holds it own with all the others pictured.

Hope you like the pics.

That box is really smart. I mean that, it's so smart and well turned out to make the owner proud. Acquisition circumstances aside, you've got yourself an impressive box.

One of the best looking radios out there. I have never seen one in person. Nice addition for sure

I'd concur with you on that - a beautiful stereo, rare and expensive, cost me big bucks on Yahoo JP + restoration but I don't regret.
AFAIK, no direct analogues outside Japan. No Jeagams, nothing.

i really never thought these were that big boy i was wrong that thing must be huge. makes it more bad ass being that the layout is very well proportioned for such a large box , makes it look smaller than it actually is. basically that's one sweet ass radio, i never paid much attention to these before.
