ive got a sharp cd x12 from 1991.ok,so the problem is this....the plastic speaker connectors on the back....one side makes a good connection while the other side doesnt....been inside it and theres nothing wrong....no broken solder joints, the area is nice and clean, the speaker itself works well when run on the other connector so the speaker is fine, the balance is fine (checked on headphones lol)and the spectrum analiser is balanced and reading out fine....so the am is fine on both channels....tried cleaning the connectors inside and out and still nothing....im losing my rag with it so does anyone have a clue about it???? :hmmm: its a lovely box and never wanted one to work properly as much as this

maybe this will help!
i had a similiar problem with a philips when one channel doesnt work. The problem is the headphone jack like if you have plugged a mono headphone (pin) in a stereo jack or maybe a headphone with a fatter pin . Basically u may have used a wrong size pin or a bad one.Maybe the socket is very old.
Inside the headphone socket there are two rings that are pressed that cancel the speakers as they get pressed(when we put the pin) and we hear sound from the headphones and vice versa.Sometimes one of the rings stay in pressed state even after removing headphone pin and you lose one channel. The solution is use a needle and move the ring in the socket see if you are hearing the channel again. if it helps and the channel works then Never use the socket again or change it with better ones(if possibe).
Hope this is related or maybe its another problem.

See I'm lost :-(. You say connection on left side bad, is it what you mean that you have no output on left channel :hmmm: because when you say bad connection that means its physically not connecting properly ;-)
