If I were to buy just one type of Deoxit to clean and lube parts during a one off resto of an otherwise working BBX what type would you recommend ? Looking to do connections and switches .

Cheers

You asked for only 1 choice. F5 has better lubricating properties but D5 will clean/lubricate/protect. In my experience, the solvents in D5 is necessary for difficult to clean controls, which isn't nearly as effective with F5. But there's no 1 all, cure all. For best results, get the proper fluid for the job at hand.

Well I did happen to find a kit with both F5 and D5 so I grabbed it . The one issue I hope to "cure" is a bit of noise I get through the speakers when moving the volume button . I'm hoping the contacts on the switch are just dirty , but I guess I won't know till I first try the Deoxit to clean it .

I used the Deoxit D5 in the past, but found out the other stuff i use at $7.99/can (220g/8oz) worked as well if not better than the Deoxit :-D
