Can anyone help me decipher this datecode, if these are datecodes???

Hi frank-Yes I believe they are.
Panasonic uses different type of coding it looks like.
My JVC M--90 was born on May 21st. 1983'! But again JVC uses full last 2 numbers on their coding.
Hopefully you can figure it out.
