I agree, but to some people it is just an old radio...... :annoyed:Terry said:Very sad that the original owner would let it get beat up like that.

If it hasn't be repainted, the case appears to be in great shape sans the name badge and aluminum trim.
Oh, yeah...
Welcome aboard, HELIX4700!!

Eh. It's a Conion/Hong Kong discount electronics wonder. Never seen one in person, but they look very cheap, like late 80's Soundesign or Yorx, only far worse. I bet they broke if you looked at them funny, and they probably sold back in the day because they were flashy, and cheap per pound, watt of output, and inch of speaker diameter. These were boxes for alienating people on street corners and killing "D" cells, not sitting pretty on desks or appreciating behind glass and playing Mozart once a week. I, for one, am glad people probably got to see and hear the thing quite extensively back in its prime. Then again, I'm a Walkman person first, and I buy vintage electronics for daily use, not rarity or cultural value.
Oh, and let me add, that's a darn cool box for $15. The generic boxen like Lasonic were perhaps the trashiest and loudest of a pretty in your face group of electronics.

actually the conion is a well built box ,now it could be better but that could be said for lots of things ,but it could be worse too ,the conion is not a cheap box ! when you pick it up the weight alone says good box there are boxes i like more than the conion but still the conion is bad ass.
