Ive never repainted any of the boxes i have but i want to paint at least two to match my cruisers i havent decided which two yet,but i wanted some advice before i got started. What kind of paint is recommended? and will i have to pull everything apart in order to paint the back casing and all other parts that will need paint or is there a way to cover stuff with out having to rip everything apart i dont want to risk not getting them back together? Thanks ahead of time for any advice you guys can give me.

Hey rusto.........If I ever was to paint a box I would take it apart so when all the pieces are put back together it looks smoking hott !
as opposed to masking off areas and possible getting overspray from the paint onto parts that you wouldn't want paint on.
also use the proper paint if your painting on plastic use oil based paints that adhere to plastic. Maybe even a light sanding with a fine grit sandpaper I mean really fine.
Also take lots of picture while your taking the box apart for reference after your done painting and putting it back together. Well good luck to you

Every box I have ever painted ALWAYS gets stripped down. It is a lot of work but that is the only way to get a "factory" look without any overspray or paint lines...and the results will definitely be worth it.
