Custom Crown SZ 5100

Just did a minor cleaning and satin black paint on my speaker grill guards. Speaker grills painted red. Grill guards chrome was very bad and couldn't be polished out

Lower cassette still has issues and I accidently broke the upper cassette door flap off so I will have to make a new one some time .

All the case mounting posts were broke off this box and it was held together with a bungie cord - fixed all those, that was the main part of going in the box and to help another member fix his power supply board.

You know, the Crown might look like a mighty boomer but it really SUCKS compared to any lasonic . It is a very empty box and is probably one of my lightest. Does it get loud? Yeah, it gets screaming loud. Is there good tuning with the EQ? Eh, I think bass/treble knobs can be set and sound better than this EQ.

They are cheap, cheap, CHEAP boxes - nothing I have compares to it. It looks similar but is very different. Someone would want one possibly just to own, not for quality. Looks cool though .

I would still buy another knowing what I know about them .

^ I thought about that too - but looking over the one that STRETCH has for sale, it clearly doesn't have the right "peg" lengths that would be the mounting/pivot points of the door itself..... I can try to repair this one but it will be too delicate no matter how I do it so making something new might be my only option right now
