Custom Built Leather BBX Carry Case!

I recently bought a GE 3-5285A boombox - part of GE’s Silver Signature Collection. A small but beautiful higher mid-end unit.

I started thinking about what an upscale Silver Signature Collection carry case would look like. In my head it looked really good so I decided to actually build it.

It’s made from Baltic Birch covered in simulated leather. Inside is premium black felt.

The surprise benefit - the radio sounds notably better when it’s in the case! Bass is better and overall sound quality is improved.

This is a very interesting idea. I haven't seen anyone else do it, but I like it.

That's really slick!! It makes me think of the extremely rare JVC case for the RC-M70. Great job, Jam On!

Thanks! It was a super fun project. I might make a few more for some of my other boomboxes. My laser cut bed is 15” x 15” max so it limits me to my smaller radios.
