Crown CSC 950L

I recently restored my Crown CSC 950L and was surprised by the amazing clarity and overall sound quality of this box.

It definitely way high on the list of Hi Fi boomboxes.

I still wonder what is the secret of this HQ sound!

I am looking for one original antenna for this box. Please PM me if anyone can sell it to me.

i think the 950 has a strong amplifier that over drives the speakers . this is a good thing because you can generally get better sound over powering a speaker than under powering one . the 950 has good speakers that can take the power without blowing or even distorting badly. i love the 950 and this box took way too long to be noticed for it's sound quality .i think in general the choice of amp and circuity along with other factors decide how it will sound.

Hi, It could be due to many factors like bad caps, contact issues and so on.

Luckily mine seemed to be well kept by the previous owner with very little or no dust inside the box. Everything looked like new except for one antenna and a couple of very fine scratches.

It is in real nice condition!

Radio reception is crystal clear and so also playing tape.

There is some "magic charm" to this box because I am loving it more and more.
