Crown CSC 950f phono stage bypass

Hello all,

Instead of fannying about with adaptors I'm just going to bypass the phono stage as I want to connect an AUX input without having to press record on the tape.

Sel, you can just use the RCA’s with an attenuator and not chop anything.

Hello mate,

I can't find one ready made anywhere so the best option for me will be to modify the circuit internally.

Should be able to press Record only, not Record+Play

You can bypass phono amp, but you must open the boombox case.
Look at this picture where must connect 3 cables:
Left - between R105 and C106;
Right - between R205 and C206;
Ground - to ground;
You can use RCA or 3.5 mm female mount jack.

Thank you for the info but I can't see the picture, any chance you can reupload it?

I gave it a try last night and there's like a echo effect when I play, it sounds really weird. I'll try the way Goodman is suggesting, if I get no joy I'll have to get my brother to send me an attenuated cable from the UK.
