I've posted about nz_boom a few times before, Craig goes above and beyond to help fellow Boomboxery members and collectors, and asks for very little in return. He lives in one of the most remote cities on earth, where Winters are harsh and Summers are Wintery. Nothing else to do there except search out great radios!
Craig has helped me score one of my dream boxes, a Crown CSC 850, I helped Gluecifer get his one last year, and as soon as I saw and heard one close up I just KNEW i had to get one, Craig has gone the extra mile to help me realize that goal.
A heads up from Craig pointed me towards this excellent looking box on a New Zealand auction site, with a starting bid of $20.00, A short discussion ensued with Craig and an offer of $100 was made to the seller and the box was secured.
Just one problem, the box was 4 hours drive away! No matter. Craig had a solution for that, relatives in the Christchurch area picked the radio up and it was on it's way to Dunedin soon enough. Craig gave it a bath, re-belted it and then packed it up securely and for the princely sum of $80 NZ the radio was on it's way to me. The 4 day wait nearly killed me!
So for relatively little money I have a beauty of a radio, thanks Craig. It's guys like you that make this hobby more than a hobby, you guys are more like family, because our actual family will never understand this obsession of ours.
