creaky tuner knob

I have a Crown boombox that creaks real bad when turning the tuning knob. I opened up the box to find the string go's around and turns some plastic wheels that ride straight on plastic pins....

what is the proper way to lube these things? I don't want the plastic to break off and ruin the tuner

You can try a very small amount of white grease on the shaft the wheels spin on using tooth pic. Try not to get any on string
