heys guys,

do the handles on your boxes creak ???

my hitachi is creakin,

i oiled the pins, but its not enough, still

creaking when i walk.

its the metal holders ( that hold the handle inner pins ) that have to be oiled,

i will have pull them out and clean, its a stupid creaking.

not that i hear it when the music is playing but nonetheless it bothers me

i hope i do a good job.

Try a grease versus oil It is thicker and will work better to quiet the noise and stick to the parts better.
White lithium grease usually works well to quiet things up.

Good topic. Creaky handles are an issue for quite a few boxes. Especially with plastic handles. The issue with lubricating plastic handles is that petroleum based lubricant may or will degrade the plastic causing breakage.

What do some of you guys use for plastic? I use graphite. :-)

i only have vaseline...

i think it being petroleum based,

i better not use it.

maybe i ll have to buy some grease.

the hitachi handle is kind of metallic on the base,

with chrome finish,

and the holders ( from inside holding the handle ears ) are steel or something alike,

but they touch the box inside which is plastic in this case...

:hmmm:

yes grease id guess

btw, what is the graphite???

it comes in what form???

paste?

I hate it when my boxes creak when picked up/put down, or squeek when the handle is moved.
The noises make the box sound badly made IMO.
