good morning to all....thursday morning I went to work and I was told i was gonna train one of my coworkers on a piece of equiptment.... The day started out just like any other a quick tour of the truck and we were off.He say to me hey jimmy your the guy who collects old radio's ....so I began telling him how much I love these old things...well he says to me I have an old jvc...so with this i paused and took out my phone and started going through my pics...I showed him a pic of an m70 and asked is this the one...he looked at me and said its bigger  ..well i showed him a pic of an m90 and he said thats it :breakdance: I said oh wow but what he said next was the real shocker hes says I want you to have it...he began to tell me the story how he bought it brand new in 1984 and did just about everything with the radio ...from backyard bbq,s to partys and trips...so by the end of the day we stoped buy his garage and picked up the radio...well i was so happy just could,nt belive that this was happening....so I took it home and pluged it in and sadly only one channel works both woffers are cracked, cassette door is missing the antenna posts are all broken out and cracked cassing,,,the time it sat on a shelf in a garage did alot of damage to the electronics....... so a full restoration is gonna definitly happen really gonna try to save this grail here are some pics

Thats a cool story Jimmy, someone else on here also recently got given an m90, from a neighbour.

It just shows you really never know what someone else may have kicking around :-O

With your skills im sure you'll have that 90 blasting again in no time mate, best of luck with the project

you might be able to bring the other channel back just by cleaning the controls . the my has problems with the band selector and function switched becoming dirty especially the band selector buttons .

my advice for the woofers is to just glue the cracks back together if you can ,i never seen an m90 with cracks in the speakers like that before. there regular paper cones with a clear poly sprayed on the front so if you glue them make sure you apply the glue to the back of the cone .

you might consider that expensive m90 beater that bills guy is selling --
grab what you need -
then sell the rest --
so - it could be a fair $$ deal :hmmm:
