Cosmel J800 8 inch boombox

This is the Cosmel J800 that I received this week. It’s a pretty uncommon one piece boombox. It arrived in decent condition but I need to get inside and push the grills back out. It takes nine D cells and has a voltage selector although the cord is built in. It doesn’t say which country it was manufactured in. Build quality is average and it doesn’t weigh a lot for an 8 incher. I’ve only ever seen one before on S2go but there is another aka called a KOPE CR-3000 which Samovar owns.

It’s a very bassy thumper up to about level 5 on volume and it has some pretty nice leds and an unusual tinted cassette door. I’ve put a picture of an S90 for size comparison. Enjoy the pics.

Yes there seems to be some Tosh DNA. The way the box opens up, the back screw placements and the ribbing on the inside of the handle.

Its a nice box , the whole back case looks like it came straight from a Toshiba.

That box has some nice looking feature , like the deck door , the vu meter panel, the cassette keyss with bumper guard. I also like the painted trims on woofers and the tweeters.
