Decided to re-do the :LED systems for the ORTHROS II. I wanted to incorporate 3 LED controllers for a meaner looking display. The Leds for the 2nd version of the ORTHROS did not have that kind of sinister look the 1st version had....

Here are the 2 side by side in videos for you to ckeck out..

1st ORTHROS(Traded to Vintage Man)

2nd ORTHROS

So, after all that work, I felt that the 2nd version lacked a 'mean' look, almost cartoon like in the way the woofers & body lit up. too busy..so I went back to the drawing board & decided to re-work the sections & the patterns in which they lit up to try to bring a little more street cred. to the action

The result is kind of UFO like..

I still have the 3rd section to install so stay tuned.... :-D :weed:

I had to crack it open 1 more time to fix a couple of small snags...
1.. the right VU was sticking @ the 1/2-way point & needed to be fixed.
2... the tape deck needed the head re-aligned so it could play tapes properly...

Now it's all fixed up & the deck is fully working, sounds good too...

Here it is playing a chrome tape recorded on a 3 head deck.... :jawdrop:  :-D

As you can tell, the LED system is whisper quiet...no static at all...as always....

Thanx!! :-D Umm hard to say....probably about 60-80 hours between planning, fabbing the parts & connectors, etc. & installing, painting the woofer & tweeter areas, grills, testing, etc. Keeps me out of trouble....
