Cassette decks don't work, antenna kinked, missing battery cover, and holes/melted spots on back cover.

Also, both feet are broken... I wouldn't touch that box - not worth the money! :nonono:

But check out this jackass seller... http://cgi.ebay.com/CLAIRTONE-7980-/200 ... 2eb0b45ae6

The only thing that resembles a description - and it happens to be of minimal importance - is this:
Released: 1984
MSRP: $1200
Dimensions: 75.4cm x 40.1cm x 20.4cm
Weight: 12.0kg
Output: 45W (22.5W/channel)

All that other sh!t he's talking about means absolutely nothing. :dunce:

There's absolutely NO WAY a Conion cost $1,200 back in 1984. :nonono: That seller is an idiot.

not buying now - and regretting not buying the last Conion I saw on British eBay for 285 pounds

I saw that one. You dont see them outside the US very often. Looking back it would have been a good buy

Sounds like he's trying to get over on somebody.

What irks me the most is this:
What's the definition of "ghettoblaster?" Many people will argue that the Conion C-100F (also released under the Clairtone and Helix brands) is the quintessential boombox. It's loud, flashy and reached legendary status on city streets in the '80s. The obscure brand may not be recognizable but chances are you've seen the C100-F--it has made cameo appearances in countless movies, commercials and music videos over the last 20 years. Rumor has it that the Conion is a standard issue prop for any film or video that involves breakdancing.
For all anyone knows, that box could be dead 'cause he doesn't mention if anything works.

yeah you are right on the money with that assumption there bobby. i mean i think these big blasters are amazing but they were usually found in discount stores up here like zellers or fedco.
to be honest there is something that tells me these big conions usually went for under 300 bucks back here wich was a ton of change for a kid back then.
1200 bucks tho i mean thats some kind of pipe dream.
