Hi All,

Had a awesome response from people on the repair of my Sharp GF-777.Now restored.

Next project is my Conion 126F. Usual problem of cassette players not working and loss of contact with one speaker and a worn volume control.

Anyone know if it is possible or know what belts to buy for this 126F? Also Im looking for another repairer in Melbourne Australia.

Cheers

I will be undergoing this task myself hopefully soon, I haven't opened it up yet to see what belts are needed.. I wonder if it'd be the same as the Conion C-100F? Just because they have a similar layout.. Doesn't seem to be a lot of people restoring the C-126 or TC-999 though, whatever info I find or can provide I will post in here..

Hi JustCrusin,

Any info would be a great help. I am in no way tech savy. I know a little but always get a repairer to work on my boxes.

The top (sideways) cassette deck on my 126F looks like it mite be hard to get to?

Keep the info coming. Especially anyone in Melbourne Australia.

Cheers

Actually the top deck is easy to get out. Once you open box, just take out 5-6 screws holding it in and unplug I believe 2 plugs and it will come out

Pulled mine apart tonight, just to figure out why the lower tape motor was constantly running.. The REW switch was engaged (stuck down) and at least 1 of the belts in the lower tape deck needs replaced.. it has no tension at all!

Took the top board off and cleaned/lubed the switches..

Oh yeah, also used a heat gun to help push back the "tension tab clips" on the battery door.. it was just falling off before (worn out)
Now it's holding 10 D batts no problem!
