I did a search before posting and couldn't find an answer.

Does anyone know/remember what the original price was for these things?

I seem to recall either $299 or $399 locally at Electronic Express stores circa 1985.

Thanks. I'm thinking about the same as you.

I know I bought one new back then, and I'm guessing $299 as I don't think I would have spent much more than that back then.

Yea that was the normal asking price. They went down to $260 for holiday shoppers. That when my uncles jumped all over them.

I bet that's about what I paid then. Being a 19 yr old fork lift driver at that time, I would have waited for a sale, lol

Location was a factor also. I bought one brand new back in 84 and it was 500.00. They were about 250.00 in New York

I can't even remember where I bought mine back then, but it could have been Philadelphia or New York, and I'm thinking I paid around $299.
