Hello everyone. Playing my boombox this morning, all of a sudden left speaker starts to crackle in and out then becomes permanent. Any thoughts on the cause?

When the radio plays it almost goes away, then when i flick the source to aux/phono and play my phone or iPod the crackling static sounds slowly creep back. I've cleaned the pots even though they weren't bad at all. Sucks i got this boombox a few days ago and everything was fine, i noticed one speaker a little bit weaker than the other but barely.

You have dirty switches. It could be the phono/aux switch on the back, the loudness switch, or the play/record bar(the long switch tied to the record button). All three of those lie in the audio path and directly impact sound quality.
Really? i find when i flick the mono/stereo/wide switch it messes with the speaker noise as well. Ok ill check those out. Thank you very much.
