Cleaning those little paint spots

So I'm sure everybody has ran into a box with that lovely light over spray of paint from when someone had it in the garage or basement while painting the lawn mower or something silly. Is there a 'best way' to clean though off rather then just picking them off with a finger nail? I would imagine the plastic chassis is very easy to damage with the typical things used for removing paint. So, what's the best practice for this?

And while at it, any best practice for just overall cleaning of the exterior, cleaning of tape mechanics, etc?

Unfortunately, I've not found a magic "fix" for paint spots. The old fingernail trick is what I use most of the time. However, if the spots are more like a mist effect, Orange Glo can get quite a bit of them off.

if most of the spots are on the sides or the back --
its faster to re-spray the case
Faster does not keep the bbx vintage  taking your time you can even soak it with warm water and soap to loosen paint ;-)

Peanut oil worked for me, its also great for removing adhesive residue left behind by stickers ect . It even removed linolium glue that got where it shouldnt have been.

It may pay to keep in mind that the box I used P-oil on was a Sharp WQ-T282, Its plastic box is made from colored plastic with im assuming decals for the lettering. The oil did not discolor the plastic or remove any of the lettering. On a painted box, maybe a good idea to test in a out of sight spot.
