HI I am new to the form and if all goes well I will be getting my first old school boom box a Lasonic TRC 931. The box is in prety good condition in full working order. it show a little wear from its age and has a few scratches. i was wanting some pointers nm cleaning the body and any tips on getting the chrome nice and shinny. Is painting the body a good idea? What should I do to minimize scratches? Any other tips would be appreciated.

Thanks, J

Well you did real good on your 1st boomer   as for cleaning mild dish soap is always good ;-) Some people use wax to real bring out shine :w00t: If outside seems pretty dirty chances are the inside of bbx is also  Now some guys take it apart to clean and some leave it alone...I always clean 100% inside and out :-D Good luck and :morepics: :morepics: when you get her done

Cool thanks for the tips. I will receive the box this week. I'll post some pics when I get it. It is missing one knob, the mic volume. (the second version on the trc with the rounded corners) If anyone knows where I could get one let me know.

Thanks, J
