Clairtone 7978 won't play tapes.

Hey guys. Newbie here. Got a clairtone 7978 with our new house.
Everything works but "play" on the tape deck. The heads move up, but nothing spins.
And "ff" takes a second to get up to speed.
Opened it up and nothing is amiss visually.

Could the tape deck just need replacing? If so, where do I get one? My internet search has come up empty.
And I'm just about out of my skill level.

Any ideas?

It needs new belts installing on the deck. Probably a good clean and adjustment too but new belts first.

In Canada no sorry, hopefully someone in that part of the world can chime in where they get them from.

i'd have a look at ebay for belt packs and buy cheap.

Try KP Components in canada,you'll need the belt sizes first!
I got a complete set of belts from KP and the prices are good too!
