Recently, my father gave me a box of family pictures and in it were pictures of me with my first radio cassette player!
A mono box made by BicSound (????)
It was 1980 and I was 12 years old.
I have my "RUSH - Moving Pictures" cassette in one hand and a "Smokey and the Bandit" remote control car in the other . Sporting my white VANS with B/W Checkerboard bottoms. It's hard to see, there is also a pack of 60 minute cassette tapes that I still have in a box somewhere that I used to record off the radio with.
My sister had a Sanyo mono that I ended up with, but this was the true first cassette radio portable I ever owned and in just a few short years, I moved up to the Lasonic TRC-920 and ruled my neighborhood
GOTTA ROCK SOME TOM SAWYER NOW!
