What's up people?!
It's the holidays and I have to stay and work while my wife is traveling. So I finally have some time to join the group and play on the internet and with my boomboxes. I'm in Northern California and have been collecting radios of all sorts for years. I always have a few D8443/4 boxes in different states of repair. I just really like the looks of that model and it's cheap/easy to find. I can't believe someone on here actually made the "brittle gear" for this model. I am so stoked! I'm waiting for my first few gears right now.
Thanks for having me and I hope to contribute when I can.But I'm afraid my questions will outnumber my knowledge
Attached is a pic of the current herd of phils and maggies. Even my dog knows I have a problem.Haha.

(Disclaimer:I did ask Northerner for advice as "PowerPlayerFan",but I changed name because It's not the only radio I collect)

These are usually at different worksites and houses,but I have them all gathered here for a party. I just sync them all with a good FM transmitter!

Hi neighbor. I'm in Eureka on the coast in Humboldt County(not Yreka.ha).
Yeah, This model is plentiful enough to find the parts you need and not feel bad about doing something fun with the beat-up parts. I'm gonna try my first disco mod as soon as all the parts arrive. But I don't have a Phillips D8443,and I swear I've seen one on ebuy

I saw one in craiglist for cheap but it has the same issue as all the other ones haha. Welcome and I am from California the bay area seems like their is a few of us in the sunny state.
