I know what you're saying. We have one member in Japan who says he can help us buy what we want. The only thing is that by the time he adds his "service fee" shipping fee to him, packing/shipping to you, it costs as much if not more than buying something locally without any of the protections of buying directly. I wonder if there is any place in Japan that sells used devices so we can purchase and import them in person?

What's the problem? :-/ The price of the boxes?

I'll say this much... If I lived in Japan, I'd rack up on boxes 'cause most of the decent boxes don't sell for that much - especially if there's a lot of 'em for sale at the same time. The box in my avatar, for instance, cost me 1700 yen (less than $19.00 U.S.). When the middleman adds his fee ($25 - $50) for Japan bank transfer charges and whatnot, it still ain't bad... It's the EMS shipping charges that'll eat your ass up tho! :-D

I thought there was another guy in the other website that would offer up some boxes from Japan, and that some of the members disliked his tactics..

I was just in Tokyo in June, and I went to Turbosonic, they have changed their situation, and now have a warehouse a couple of hours outside of Tokyo and a small wall with 20 boomers in a pet toy store! They have 3000 radios if they are to be believed, including 47 VZ-2000's! I was only there for a week, but when I go back I will let them know ahead of time and arrange a time to go with them to the warehouse to take pics of it!

That would have to be a kick ass warehouse, pics are definitely needed if it's true.

They are super nice, a couple probably about 40, they rent to film and videos sets alot in Japan, but their English is almost nil so you will not get a reply. They did give me a publication/ catalogue that they made showing some of their stuff, but its all written in kanji...

The Japanese are encouraged to learn and are taught English throughout school but rarely have a chance to use it because there's not much interaction with English speakers/foreigners. When they get older, they've forgotten everything they've learned... That's also part of the main reason why the vast majority of Japanese sellers WILL NOT ship boxes or other goods outside of Japan.
