I found this box to be very easy to work on so here we go I'm not very good at this but i'm trying to learn and put something back into the forum!!!
I asume most people will be able to remove the front all screws out of back with marked with arrows volume all knobs off front and eject !!! now this is an option you should remove the tape button board first!( the thing with the buttons) it has one tab at the bottom which looks like it'll break, because the wire is short but i found it pulled of when the front came off!
now this is the fun part it is very tight it will take some wiggling to get the front off be careful too much resistance could be that tape control wire!! once you have got it off it should just pull the tape deck control lead off it should !! other than that the other connections are easy to remove !!

remove all the screws holding the deck out and move to one side some wires need to be removed but you will know which one's(if not don't carry on you shouldn't be in there)

this is it now we're in!!! the top left white plastic thing will be loose so watch it don't matter if it falls off it's simple to put back

now take the flywheel off!!! flip deck over and remove the small washer which holds it on don't lose it!!

now get the front of the boombox and carefully remove the tape panel because other wise you won' be able to connect the wire again!!
assuming everything is ok it should work !!!

Hi Saxonman,

That looks like some good advice dealing with the Hitachi. Where did you get your belts from? I am after some Hitachi belts.

How does this one sound? Better yet, how does it record?

Lovely Boomer :-D :-D

Cheers
