Got another Sony mono boombox today-a CFM-10.

One interesting thing about this model is that the built-in microphone is positioned next to the speaker.

It's still a current model in some countries, like Australia.

I paid $10 for it.

I didn't realize that some manufacturers had continued to build mono-boxes.That practice of making them look like one half of a boombox goes back in history a long way.It surprises me that this might still be in production. The style is dated. I don't remember seeing anything like it in stores for some time. Anyway, good find  !

Nice little box.
Seen a few of those at Goodwill over the years but never picked one up because I really don't have the room to collect mono boxes.

ViennaSound - Have you been to a store selling new boomboxes lately. Of course I wouldn't blame you if you have stopped looking at the new boxes. There's little to nothing for sale you could define as a boombox. Quite literally it's as bad as I've ever seen it. Even so,many of us are waiting for a rebirth of them in the consumer market ! Much of Babyas collection is beginning to look dated and will be collectible if it isn't already. He's found some interesting pieces in my opinion. Piece by piece, with the assistance of Jens, the boombox collecting community is slowing putting together a complete timeline of all the boomboxes ever made. Some here like myself and Redbenjoe have a fascination that covers all the past decades and not just our personally favored eras.

True! :agree:
Found some retro-looking new boxes in the shops, but 95% are ugly scrap.
Babya´s collection will be the most unique in our community.

And i will start to take photos from this boxes at flea too... :angelic:
