hi just joined live in little new zealand population 4 million so boomboxs are few and far between but at least they are cheap today just got a sony cfd-5 with manual fully working the date on manual is 1985 so it must of been one of the first with cd dose any one no if this is so thanks

Welcome MZ I will second RBJ's notion that this is the worlds best site.
That's a cool box and the CD section looks exactly like the first CD walkman the D-5 so I think it's entirely possible that's the first boomer with a CD player.
