Recently bought one that came with "issues"
One of the issues was tape playing too fast , I mean super fast and pressing the dubbing button made it worse ( faster )
I checked the forms and it seems 2 other times the question had been asked specific to the 975... but no solution.
Well I found out my issue .... if you have similar issues you can check the A & B legs on the motor ( that runs a connection back the small PCB that houses a POT and the mic and phones socket....
I had to re-solder the connection on the A leg ... it was actually connected and could buzz out on the multimeter , but must have been high resistance... a heat up and dab of solder sorted the issue.
happy days
