Cassette speed pot...where is it? Sanyo m-x650

Looking to adjust speed on my cassette player and cannot find the potentiometer for adjustment. I read the manual and it states to adjust it from the cassette motor. So I opened up the box and examined the motor and couldn’t find anything. There’s a couple small holes on the back of the cylinder of the motor that have foam inside and no screws. I also tried adjusting other pots near the line in port and that didn’t change the speed. I will attach a pic of the directions for adjustment from the manual. It says the potentiometer is on the inside of the motor but didn’t see anything. Any help to speed up my cassette speed would be much appreciated.

should be on the back of the motor as stated, the foam you see is just to stop dust from getting inside
Thanks for the input. The foam is on the inside of the motor. I’m going to push it aside and try to find it. When I had it opened, I pushed at the foam slightly with a small screwdriver however It just kept traveling inward. I wonder if the pot is deep inside the motor.

I poked through the foam holes with different sized Phillips and standard screwdriver to see if any turning would adjust the speed however nothing worked. The motor is missing a screw on the inside that holds it to the bracket. 2 of the 3 screws are there to hold the motor. The speed does adjust when I move the motor slightly By hand. I even tried poking in the side space. But I cannot adjust it permanently and do not see a potentiometer. Try tracing the wires from the motor to one of the other boards in the boombox and look for any type of adjustment pot near those wires.

Looks like the motor wires have been messed with. I think the potentiometer is supposed to be positioned on the little circuit board connected directly to the motor. There is a “+ and -“ sign. When I move the wires and solder joints slightly the speed temporarily changes going up and down.
ive looked on the other boards and chased the wires and have even tried adjusting anything that looks like a potentiometer to see if it changed the speed(making sure to bring it back to its original starting position following a test).

You can try to service the motor. looks like someone has experimented with these resistors to control speed.
