Cassette Deck problem - Take up pulley clutch slipping

Hi All,

I have an issue with the slip clutch on a cassette deck take up pulley. The felt disk type.


I have tried a few things to make a replacement but it is still not great and slips too easily causing some tapes to jam.

Anyone have any suggestions on what is the best material to make a replacement slip clutch from?

Are you sure it’s not a slipping belt or tire? It’s not usually an issue that take up real has issues with the clutch.

Thanks for the reply. I am pretty sure its not the belt as I hae replaced all of those, but you have made me think, so will certainly double check.
